Policies & FAQ

  • Basic Order Policies

    • For ALL items other than those on the “In Stock” page, orders for Tuesday pickup MUST be placed by the Saturday prior, and orders for Friday and Saturday pickup MUST be placed by the Wednesday of that week. Any orders not placed before these deadlines are subject to a rush fee, starting at $5. If fees are applied, you will be notified by email or text message, and you will receive an invoice for you to pay aforementioned charges. The fees must be paid before the order will be completed. Late orders could even potentially be subject to cancellation if the order is too large to accommodate on such short notice, requires special ingredients that I don’t have in stock, etc.
    • You will receive a standard confirmation email whenever you place an order that will contain the full pickup address. Unless I have an issue or a question regarding your order, I will most likely not send you an additional email. Your order is on my calendar and fully booked regardless, if you’ve received the standard order confirmation than I have also received the order on my end :)
*Also please note that occasionally my emails will get caught by your spam filter. If you do not see your order confirmation email, PLEASE check your spam to make sure it didn’t end up there.
    • Please arrive AT your scheduled pickup time. While I do have regular windows of hours on pickup days, that does not mean I am available for you to pick up your order "any time" in that window. The pickup time scheduler exists so that I have scheduled pickup "appointments" and can then plan my schedule around them. If you arrive more than 5 minutes early, I may not have your order fully packaged/ready for your arrival. If you are 15+ minutes late--especially without contacting me and letting me know you're running behind--you may be subject to a late fee starting at $5, or you may have to reschedule your pickup entirely.
  • Flavor Availability

The items on the cupcakes, cakes, and sugar free menus are ALWAYS available. Pickups Tuesdays & Fridays 1pm-6pm and Saturdays 10am-1pm. Then I also have a SPECIALS menu that has all sorts of different items and flavors that rotate on a regular basis. This way there’s always new things to try, and I’m able to offer many of these items in smaller quantities for those of you who don’t need a full dozen. This is also where you can find the items that we have available for shipping. Check back regularly to see what’s available, or Contact Me with the subject SPECIALS and I’ll add you to the biweekly specials email list!

There will also occasionally be extra items that I have on hand. They will only be available when they are in stock, but are great for if you need something last minute! Sometimes I will post them on the Specials page, other times I will just have them posted on my Facebook & Instagram pages. They can be ordered and picked up in the same day, but allergy options are limited to what I have on hand.

  • Allergy Notice

Our kitchen is a 100% gluten free kitchen, so you can rest assured that there will be no cross-contamination between your items and gluten.

HOWEVER, our kitchen is not free from ANY other allergens. Therefore, when you choose any of our other allergy friendly options, please note that while we will do our UTMOST to ensure that your item is 100% free from the allergen you have selected, this is not an allergen free facility. By ordering from us, you agree that we have made you aware of the presence of such allergens in our kitchen and that we cannot be held responsible for any contamination (however rare) that may occur.

  • Refund Policy

Please inspect your order once you have received it and make sure that it is not damaged and that it is what you ordered. If the products have been damaged or you have received the incorrect items, please contact me and let me know so that I can rectify the issue.

For any custom order, I cannot provide refunds or exchanges. If you pickup your order and the order does not meet your expectations, I will give you a partial refund (minus a 30% handling/cancellation fee). This refund is ONLY given if you do not accept the cake/items. I will NOT negotiate a partial refund if you keep the order, this policy is “take it or leave it”.

  • Where are you located?

I’m located in Red Bank, just outside of Lexington, South Carolina, but I don’t give out my exact address until an order is placed to protect my privacy. I also protect my address because Deliciously Unique is currently a HOME bakery, and does not have a walk-in storefront yet (though that is my goal at some point in the future!).

  • Why don't I see some of my favorite flavors?

Right now I’m operating under a new “SPECIALS” system. All the favorite cupcakes, cakes, and sugar free items are still available all year long. The rest of my items are rotating regularly as featured specials. This gives me the ability to offer a wide variety of flavors over the course of time, and to have smaller quantities/mini cakes/cake slices available on a regular basis. If there’s something I make that you really love and you don’t see on the menu, please contact me and I will see what I can do for you :)

  • Do you bake novelty/themed/custom cakes?

I can make allergy friendly custom cakes on a limited, case-by case basis. They are not my passion at all but I understand that there are not many other options for allergy friendly cakes in the area and I take that into consideration. However I DO NOT bake custom cakes that are replicas of photos of other cakes found online. While those kinds of cakes do have their time and place, trying to replicate expressions of someone else’s creativity is not the kind of baking I do. I also have absolutely no experience decorating themed cakes so they are not something that I offer.

  • What gluten free flours do you use?

In everything except for my sugar free baked goods, I use my own blend of rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, and xanthan gum. Since I am allergic to gluten myself, I maintain a gluten free kitchen in my home, so there is no chance of cross-contamination when baking.

  • How do I order?

Once you have decided what you’d like to order, add them to your cart and select any necessary allergy options, click the cart icon to head to checkout, and let us know your pickup date in the message box.

  • Do you make anything that isn't gluten free?

Unfortunately, no. I have quite a few customers who have Celiac disease—plus I am allergic to gluten myself and do not like handling it—so in order to be able to confidently assure those customers there is no chance of cross-contamination, I keep a STRICTLY 100% gluten free kitchen.

  • Do you have other allergy accommodations?

I know that there are many different allergies that I have not included on my “Allergy Friendly Options” lists. That is because I have only tested my recipes with regards to those particular allergens, and they are the ones that I am most familiar with excluding. However, I am more than happy to work with you if there are other allergens you need to steer clear from. If you contact me before placing an order to let me know what you are looking to avoid, I will be glad to see if it is possible for me to provide options that work for you. There will just be a small fee added to any order that requires additional accommodations outside of those already offered.
