POLICIES

BASIC ORDER POLICIES:
I am now operating under a weekly menu “DROP” system (a “drop” is a pre-order sale that is only available for a short time and has limited quantities). Every Saturday a new, small menu of items—cookies, breads, cake slices, pastries, etc.—will “DROP”, and will be available for order until the following Tuesday. Then all items ordered from said menu can be picked up that Friday-Saturday. This allows me to offer items in smaller quantities, whereas up until this point everything has been offered only by the dozen/full batch. Check back regularly to see what’s available, or Contact Me with the subject DROP and I’ll add you to the weekly drop email list!

There will also occasionally be extra items that I have on hand on the IN STOCK tab of the weekly menu page. They will only be available when they are in stock, but are great for if you need something last minute!

I do still have a Cakes and Cupcakes Menu that has full sized cakes and full dozen cupcakes for all of your party needs. These items are ALWAYS available, pickups Monday-Saturday. All orders from this menu MUST be placed at least 48 hours in advance of the ideal time of pickup. Any orders not placed before the 48 hour window are subject to a rush fee, starting at $5.* If fees are applied, you will be notified by email or text message, and you will receive an invoice for you to pay aforementioned charges. The fees must be paid before the order will be completed. Late orders could even potentially be subject to cancellation if the order is too large to accommodate on such short notice, requires special ingredients that I don’t have in stock, etc.

You will receive a standard confirmation email whenever you place an order. I will then send a more personal email later to provide the pickup address, but in an effort to keep the email from getting buried in your inbox, I typically do not send this email until, at most, three days before the specified pickup date. Your order is on my calendar and fully booked regardless, if you’ve received the standard order confirmation than I have also received the order on my end :)

ALLERGY NOTICE:
Our kitchen is a 100% gluten free kitchen, so you can rest assured that there will be no cross-contamination between your items and gluten.

HOWEVER, our kitchen is not free from ANY other allergens. Therefore, when you choose any of our other allergy friendly options, please note that while we will do our UTMOST to ensure that your item is 100% free from the allergen you have selected, this is not an allergen free facility. By ordering from us, you agree that we have made you aware of the presence of such allergens in our kitchen and that we cannot be held responsible for any contamination (however rare) that may occur.

REFUND POLICY:
Please inspect your order once you have received it and make sure that it is not damaged and that it is what you ordered. If the products have been damaged or you have received the incorrect items, please contact me and let me know so that I can rectify the issue.

LARGE AND CUSTOM ORDER POLICY:
I require the total payment of your order at least 2 weeks in advance of the date you have specified you need your order and, in most cases, I will also require a partial payment deposit to hold your date, typically 25%.
Due to the handcrafted, custom nature of the work I do on custom orders, I cannot provide refunds or exchanges. If you pickup your order and the order does not meet your expectations, I will give you a partial refund (minus a 30% handling/cancellation fee). This refund is ONLY given if you do not accept the cake/items. I will NOT negotiate a partial refund if you keep the order, this policy is “take it or leave it”.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I’m located in Red Bank, just outside of Lexington, South Carolina, but I don’t give out my exact address to protect my privacy. I also protect my address because Deliciously Unique is currently a HOME bakery, and does not have a walk-in storefront yet (though that is my goal at some point in the future!).

WHY DON’T I SEE SOME OF MY FAVORITE FLAVORS?
Right now I’m working with a new weekly menu DROP system. That means I have a new, smaller menu every week with different items and flavors for you to try. This allows me to offer lots different items and flavors, and in smaller quantities. This way I’m even now able to regularly offer CAKE SLICES! If you are looking for a certain item/flavor of mine, please feel free to reach out to me and I will try my best to accommodate! And the Cakes and Cupcakes menu is always available if you’re looking for full sized cakes or dozen cupcakes.

DO YOU BAKE NOVELTY/THEMED/CUSTOM CAKES?
I can make allergy friendly custom cakes on a limited, case-by case basis. They are not my passion at all but I understand that there are not many other options for allergy friendly cakes in the area and I take that into consideration. However I DO NOT bake custom cakes that are replicas of photos of other cakes found online. While those kinds of cakes do have their time and place, trying to replicate expressions of someone else’s creativity is not the kind of baking I do. I also have absolutely no experience decorating themed cakes so they are not something that I offer.

WHAT GLUTEN FREE FLOURS DO YOU USE?
In everything except for my sugar free baked goods, I use my own blend of rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, and xanthan gum. Since I am allergic to gluten myself, I maintain a gluten free kitchen in my home, so there is no chance of cross-contamination when baking.

HOW DO I ORDER?
Once you have decided what you’d like to order, add them to your cart and select any necessary allergy options, click the cart icon to head to checkout, and let us know your pickup date in the message box.

DO YOU MAKE ANYTHING THAT ISN’T GLUTEN FREE?
Unfortunately, no. I have quite a few customers who have Celiac disease—plus I am allergic to gluten myself and do not like handling it—so in order to be able to confidently assure those customers there is no chance of cross-contamination, I keep a STRICTLY 100% gluten free kitchen.

DO YOU HAVE OTHER ALLERGY ACCOMMODATIONS?
I know that there are many different allergies that I have not included on my “Allergy Friendly Options” lists. That is because I have only tested my recipes with regards to those particular allergens, and they are the ones that I am most familiar with excluding. However, I am more than happy to work with you if there are other allergens you need to steer clear from. If you contact me before placing an order to let me know what you are looking to avoid, I will be glad to see if it is possible for me to provide options that work for you. There will just be a small fee added to any order that requires additional accommodations outside of those already offered.
