To Disguise the Truth by Jen Turano

When a man arrives at the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency, anxious to hire them to find a missing heiress, Eunice Holbrooke realizes her past has finally caught up with her…and that she may no longer be able to hide under the disguise that has kept her safe for so long.

Arthur Livingston’s goal in life is to make his mark on the world as a mining industrialist, but after the man who could help him achieve his goal is murdered, Arthur feels compelled to seek justice for the family—but he’s left with more questions than answers after the eccentric Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency refuses to take on his case.

Desperate to conceal her real identity and avoid the irritatingly handsome Arthur, Eunice takes on a different case that requires her to go deep undercover and entangles her in one troublesome situation after another. When other secrets come to light, Eunice has no choice but to confront her past, hopeful that it will set her free but knowing it could very well place her life—and the lives of those she loves—in jeopardy.

You don’t have to be very familiar with me or with my numerous different blogs over the years to know that I’m a huge fan of Jen Turano’s. I mean, one of the last posts I wrote for this particular blog was a review for one of her novels. But I have to say, I think that To Disguise the Truth might just be my favorite book she’s written so far. It is the third book in her Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency series, and as I’ve mentioned before, is a story I have been HIGHLY anticipating. Eunice was featured as a minor character in both To Steal a Heart and To Write a Wrong (the first two books in the series), and she intrigued me right from the start. I always knew that I wanted to learn about the mysteries surrounding her, so I was MAJORLY excited when this book arrived on my doorstep. And I was not at all disappointed.

To Disguise the Truth is a story that is full of secrets and intrigue, friendship and romance, and all the action I could ever want in a novel. All throughout the book, you are met with twists and turns and so many unexpected scenarios that leave you constantly wanting more. It was almost impossible for me to put down! I had to because I have an infant and I don’t think he would have appreciated me leaving him on his own for hours on end, but if I didn’t have any other responsibilities I would have read this story straight through in one sitting.

All I have left to say is, go read this book. If I say too much more I might spoil everything, so just go read it for yourself. I promise you won't regret it. Jen always does a phenomenal job of filling her stories with the perfect balance of romance, intrigue, and humor, and the most lovable characters. To Disguise the Truth not only is a wonderful story, but it also gives the perfect conclusion to the Bleecker Street trilogy, by giving us glimpses at how all of the now-beloved characters lives turn out. I cannot recommend this novel enough, and I am already eagerly anticipating when Jen’s next story releases!
