To Write a Wrong by Jen Turano

Miss Daphne Beekman is a mystery writer by day, inquiry agent by night. Known for her ability to puzzle out plots, she prefers working behind the scenes for the Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency, staying well away from danger. However, Daphne soon finds herself in the thick of an attempted murder case she’s determined to solve.

Mr. Herman Henderson is also a mystery writer, but unlike the dashing heroes he pens, he lives a quiet life, determined to avoid the fate of his adventurous parents, who perished on an expedition when he was a child. But when he experiences numerous attempts on his life, he seeks out the services of the eccentric Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency to uncover the culprit. All too soon, Herman finds himself stepping out of the safe haven of his world and into an adventure he never imagined.

As the list of suspects grows and sinister plots are directed Daphne’s way as well, Herman and Daphne must determine who they can trust and if they can risk the greatest adventure of all: love.

So today I’m throwing it back to what I used to blog about a lot on my old blog—books! I am a very avid reader—or at least, I used to be before I became a wife and a mother and I lost all of my free time—and I love to share what I’m reading with others. Today’s novel is the latest release by one of my absolute favorite authors. To Write a Wrong is the second book in Jen Turano’s Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency series, coming after To Steal a Heart, which I absolutely LOVED. I was very excited to get a chance to read Daphne’s story, especially after being introduced to her in To Steal a Heart. As someone who has always wanted to write her own book someday, I always love getting to hear about other writers, and even fictional ones are no exception.

Not only that, but the mystery in this story was so captivating! I love mysteries but I also happen to be the type of person who jumps at every single sound, especially at night, so I am always glad when I find a mystery that doesn’t keep me up at night. But don’t worry, this story was definitely still just as full of unexpected twists and turns and a never-could-have-guessed-it ending.

Now, this isn’t about To Write a Wrong specifically, but I just have to say how excited I am for the third book in this series, To Disguise the Truth. Every time I read a scene featuring Eunice (the main character of To Disguise the Truth) in the past two novels, I became more and more intrigued in wanting to learn her story, so I CAN’T WAIT to finally get to read all about it! I don’t think there’s ever been a novel that Jen Turano has written that I’ve been more excited for, so I’m so disappointed it doesn’t come out until 2022! But believe me I will be reading it as soon as it does.

All in all, I have to finish by saying I cannot endorse Jen’s novels enough. They’re full of funny, witty characters who always end up in the most unexpected adventures that ultimately end with the most beautiful story of love. So go check out To Write a Wrong, and the rest of this series, you won’t regret it. And while you’re at it, check out Storing Up Trouble too, that’s still my favorite of Jen’s novels so far.

Happy reading!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
