Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to our blog!

I just want to be upfront and honest here and say that while the posts that can be found here will be written by me, Mackenzie Wilson, owner and operator of M&B Sweets Bakery, many of them will not necessarily have anything to do with our bakery. In fact, most of them probably won’t. Let’s just be real, who wants to read a bunch of posts about what we’re baking? I know I wouldn’t. And I have a lot more to say! I have many different passions and interests and things going on in my life. We all do. So that’s what I want this blog to be about. I mean, first and foremost, I’m a wife. And a mom. There are so many different things that I could talk about just regarding my husband and my son and what it’s like to be a wife and mother that we could be here for days.

Then there’s the whole gluten free aspect. Not only do I bake gluten free desserts, I actually have a gluten allergy and have been eating gluten free for many years. So I love the idea of discussing some of the great gluten free products I have found over the years and which ones are my favorites. When I first found out about my allergy there were hardly any store-bought options for me, but now there seems to be more and more things to try! Especially with this Keto craze; you have to be okay with the fact that everything is also low carb and made with natural sweeteners (but hey, healthier food is always a good thing, am I right), but it gives us gluten free eaters even more items to choose from.

I also absolutely LOVE home decor, and organization, and cleaning hacks. All of the cleaning hacks. Especially ones that involve homemade cleaners using essential oils, I’m currently on the hunt for all the natural cleaners I could possibly need to clean everything in my house. And I’ve been doing a TON of redecorating lately. Could anyone else just get lost in picking different color palates and patterns and decorative pieces? No? Just me? Well, my little family and I have finally gotten really settled into our very first home after over a year of renting, and I am LOVING getting to put all my design ideas to good use.

Anyway, all of my babbling does have a purpose—sorry for going the long way around to get to it. If you know me in real life, you know this is not uncommon. Basically, I wanted to give you all a little chance to get to know me and what you can expect from this little blog here on our bakery website. I want to give you a behind the scenes look into what our lives are like. Yes, you may fall in love with us just because of our wonderful desserts, but I want to really get a chance to KNOW all of you wonderful people. And this seems like the best way that I can do that. At least until we are finally able to open our very own storefront and I can see all our beautiful customers face to face.

What I’m trying to say is, when you come to our blog, you can expect—unfortunately—a good bit of babbling and rambling on, but also a little peek into the lives of the family who started this bakery. You can see why it is that I am so passionate about making desserts that are safe to eat for people with allergies. You can get a glimpse into our home and my love for decor and cleaning and organization. You can find reviews of some of my favorite gluten free foods. But most of all, you can give me a chance to share my life with you and build a little community of friends, even here in the online world, where we can bond over any and all of the things we have in common.

So, once again, welcome to our bakery and to our blog. Please stay and chat and come back often to get to know us and so that we can get to know you. We hope that you’ll try some of our delicious treats because we absolutely LOVE baking things for you, but most of all, I hope that you’ll find a friend here in me. And that you’ll keep coming back here to share in this community with me.

God bless,

Mackenzie
